Fast-rising Nigerian gospel singer Aduke Ajayi has died.
The tragic news of her death was disclosed by her fellow gospel minister, Esther Igbekele, in the early hours of Tuesday in a post on Facebook.
The 34-year-old singer commands audience and followership through her single “Notori Ogo.”
Punch newspaper reported that a source close to the deceased disclosed that the singer had been ill for two months before passing on Monday at the University College Hospital, Ibadan.
Lamenting the sudden departure of Aduke, Igbekele posted on her Facebook the picture of the late singer with the caption “Rest in peace.”
Her post read, “A general has fallen. Rest in Peace.”
The death of Aduke adds to a number of losses recorded within Nigeria’s entertainment industry, especially in the Nollywood industry, throughout 2024.
