JUST IN: Joe Biden Withdraws From 2024 US Presidential Race

The President of the United States Of American, Joe Biden, has withdrawn from the 2024 presidential race..

The President who seek reelection in second term said he pulled out in the best interest of his party and the country.

Mr. Biden announced that he will no longer be vying for a second term saying that another Democrat should be choosen to contest against his opponent Donald Trump in the November general election amidst the race that has recorded assassination attempt and division.

Addressing his fellow in his letter, Mr Biden said “my fellow Americans, it has been a greatest honour of my life to serve as your president”.

“While it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as president for the remainder of my term.”

He endorsed his Vice President, Kamala Harris as Democratic nominee. He said, “Democrats – it’s time to come together and beat Trump.”

Taking to his X formerly known as Twitter, the President wrote “I will speak to the Nation later this week in more detail about my decision.”

“For now, let me express my deepest gratitude to all those who have worked so hard to see me reelected.

“I want to thank Vice President Kamala Harris for being an extraordinary partner in all this work. And let me express my heartfelt appreciation to the American people for the faith and trust you have placed in me.

“I believe today what I always have: that there is nothing America can’t do – when we do it together. We just have to remember we are the United States of America.”

The President’s wife, Jill Biden reposted her husband post with loveheart .

In the development which caused a great stir after months of criticism about Biden’s age and fitness to serve another term in office couple with series of challenges stemming from his poor performance in the presidential debate with his opponent.

The president had before now persisted doggedly that he was the best in place to win Mr Trump in the November election but had been advised from within his own party to step down.

A close source to the president said “we’re close to the end” after former President Barack Obama, who selected Mr Biden as his vice-president during his 8 years in office, shared his worries concerning his ally’s re-election bid.

it can also be recalled that Emjay Media recently reported that Mr Biden was tested COVID-19 positive with mild symptoms including “general malaise”.
