The US President, Joe Biden, tested COVID-19 positive, according to report from White House, the President is currently suffering mild symptoms.
Press secretary to the President, Karine Jean-Pierre, said Biden is Vaccinated and boosted. he also added that Biden has tested COVID twice before.
Confirming the report, Biden’s doctor, Kevin O’Connor, said Biden presented with upper respiratory symptoms, including a runny nose and a cough and was given his first dose of Paxlovid.
According to the doctor, Biden felt good during his first event of the day, but later tested positive.
The President was seen earlier on Wednesday with supporters in Las Vegas addressing them at an event. But cancelled a campaign speech later in the night.
Report by BBC News held that “the illness comes as he faces increasing pressure to step aside because of his age following a poor debate performance at the end of June.”
His press secretary, Jean-Pierre, said Biden, intended to isolate at his home in Delaware while he carries out “all of his duties fully during that time.”
Journalists on the Las Vegas trip said they rushed to the city’s airport sequel to the announcement.
